River Murray Charts

River Murray Charts Map and Guide Book

Renmark to Yarrawonga, including 60 km of the Darling River

In 1973, Baerry and Maureen Wright bought an old converted lifeboat, named it the 'Peregrine', and set off on a leisurely voyage up the River Murray. Fourteen months later they had travelled a total of 1873 kilometers upstream and were on the way to becoming part of river folklore. Captivated by the charm of the river and the river folk they met, they slowly formed the idea of committing their adventure to paper in the form of the River Murray Charts. It was an immediate success and nearly thirty years later is still regarded as the river bible. Every revision trip creates a ripple of interest along the river towns and owners of previous editions wait impatiently to find out what has changed.

In 1992, River Murray Charts won the judges commendation in the State Bank SA Tourism Awards followed by an award of distinction in 1993. Both awards were in the category of general tourism services
